She previously worked in MBIA’s Transportation and Infrastructure Group and managed the Insured Portfolio Management Enterprise Unit, which was responsible for monitoring and remediating the company’s healthcare, affordable housing and student loan portfolios. Since joining MBIA in 1992, she has also worked in the utility, lease backed and special revenue bond sectors. Prior to joining MBIA, Ms. Smayda was an assistant vice president at Moody’s Investors Service where she rated a range of credits in the Northeast. Other work experience includes analytical positions at the New York State Legislative Commission on State-Local Relations and the Community Planning and Development Office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
