 Christopher P. Chafizadeh
Managing Director
A Managing Director and Head of
MBIA's National Tax Backed practice,
Chris is responsible for activities
nationally in the following sectors:
General Obligation, Sales and
Excise Tax, Hotel Tax, Annual
Appropriations, Tax Allocation
Bonds, Special Districts and Leases.
Prior to his current position,
Chris was Head of MBIA's Housing,
Higher Education and Nonprofit
sectors in the Global Public Finance
Division. Chris joined MBIA in
1993 as an analyst covering the
Healthcare and Municipal Housing
space. During his tenure (1993-2001)
in this capacity, Chris was instrumental
in building the Healthcare and
Municipal Housing practice at
MBIA. In 2001 Chris was named
Global Head of Secondary Markets
and was responsible for continuing
to build MBIA's Secondary Market
franchise domestically and in
the international capital markets.
In August of 2003, Chris joined
MBIA's Eastern Region focusing
on Transportation, Infrastructure
and Project Finance.
Chris earned a Bachelors of Science
degree in Business Administration/Finance
from Saint Michael's College in
Winooski Park, Vermont and a Master
of Business Administration in
Corporate/Investment Finance from
Pace University's Lubin Graduate
School of Business in New York.
