He is responsible for MBIA’s residential mortgage, consumer assets, CDO and Financial Institutions Group business in Europe. In this role, Mr. Barbour spearheads MBIA’s efforts to provide banks, insurance companies and pension funds with efficient credit portfolio risk management solutions. In addition, he oversees MBIA’s Fixed Income Investor Relations Department in Europe. Mr. Barbour, who is based in London, was previously head of securitization at Commerzbank and he established Commerzbank’s successful structured finance research function. He has also worked in various origination, structuring, coverage and research roles at, among others, Barclays Capital, Lehman Brothers and Citigroup. Mr. Barbour was chairman of the European Securitisation Forum during 2004 and 2005, and a member of the board of the Bond Markets Association during 2005.
